Introduction / Summary (2018): Hello and welcome to our Sexuality pages. While this is not a pornographic site, it is provocative - founded upon what people search on the Internet (which is very interesting!). We then relate this to our biological and cultural evolution.
Sex is obviously important to people - and if you want to improve your sexual relationships then knowing the truth about our human evolution is the best foundation. By opening our minds to a greater diversity of behaviors, this knowledge will help you creatively cultivate healthy pleasurable moral attitudes and sexy smutty relationships (free from religious guilt & cultural myths).
Support an open honest discussion on the truth of our sexual evolution and behaviour. If you support sex positive, moral, informed sexual behaviour please share this knowledge. (These pages have a diverse collection of fascinating information relating to our human sexual evolution so people will appreciate it - see our 'nice letters' page!).
Sincerely, Karene.

A prostituture is someone who performs sexual acts or intercourse in return for money.

History of Prostitution to Present Day Attitudes

From the website: 'Prostitution is claimed to be one of the oldest of professions. People have very different views on this subject. Since Mesopotamian times, attitudes surrounding prostitution have evolved and changed many times from a celebrated necessity to a cultural evil. For example, prostitutes in the United States Victorian era (1840 - 1900) experienced empathy in the beginning of the century then utter rejection towards the end. The 20th century to the 21st has kept the ideals of the latter Victorians.

To legalize or not to legalize continues to be the question at hand in the modern era. Abolitionists and regulationists are still debating which solution is better for the government, society and the women of the business. Abolitionists leading the reforms today are still social and religious conservatives. Their main points for prostitution to remain illegal include that prostitution undermines the social institution of marriage and exploits women as well as poisoning the country’s moral climate (Stobla 2000). Prostitution is firmly implanted in American culture and instead of trying to eradicate it, all reformers can do now is try and keep prostitution illegal. The most vocal advocates of prostitution legalization are sex workers themselves.'

Pimps & Prostitutes: Abusive Power Relationships

From the essay: 'A woman is being pimped by a man when their relationship is contingent on her engaging in prostitution and relinquishing all or part of her
earnings to him.

An examination of the power dynamics between pimp and prostitute clearly illustrates how the tactics of power and control used to recruit and keep a woman trapped in prostitution closely parallels those used by batterers to ensure the compliance of their wives or intimate partners. These tactics include isolation of the woman; minimization and denial of her abuse; the exertion of male privilege;
threats and intimidation; and emotional, sexual, and physical abuse.'

Study of Street Kid Sexual Behaviour: 'Sex is Work'

From the essay: 'This study (through BOSCO, a nongovernmental organization), gathered information on street kids’ perceptions of sexual behaviour and coercion. They conducted in-depth interviews with 121 street children from Bangalore.
The boys in the study commonly referred to sex as 'work'. For instance, masturbation is referred to as 'hand work', oral sex as 'mouth work' and anal intercourse as 'back work'. Street boys generally had a negative attitude towards sex and often refer to it as 'bad and dirty work'.

Overall, they rated consensual sex with girls as the most pleasurable activity, followed by raping a girl. Forcing boys to have anal sex was not thought to be as pleasurable as coercing girls, nevertheless they said that it gives some pleasure.
According to the data, 74 (61%) out of 121 boys were sexually active. Most (36) were initiated between ages 10 and 12. Anal sex, which is usually a boy-to-boy activity, was the most commonly reported sexual behaviour, followed by vaginal sex. Older boys tend to have sex with girls as well as anal sex with boys. At times friends have anal sex, oral sex or practice mutual masturbation.'
