The 1972 movie, Deep Throat is perhaps the most financially successful pornographic
movie in history. The film is said to have cost $25,000 to make and to have
brought in an estimated $600 million worldwide.
The film became a massive hit, playing to sell-out crowds in mainstream cinemas. The star Linda Lovelace, reportedly received no royalties and died a poor woman in 2002.
