Semen Collection from Sexual Intercourse not Masturbation: Methods for Artificial Reproduction
Although masturbation is the standard method for the collection of a sperm sample, both for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, other approaches have been described and assessed. Production of semen using specially designed condoms (Silastic seminal fluid collection device - SCD) has been shown to result in samples with better laboratory characteristics than samples obtained after masturbation or coitus interruptus.

Arousal in Women, Viagra & Erotica: 'All in the Mind'
Scientists have concluded that women achieve most sexual satisfaction through
the stimulation of their brain and not any other organ. After eight years
of tests involving 3,000 women, Pfizer, the company behind Viagra,
the little blue pill that has transformed men's sex lives, has abandoned
efforts to prove that the drug works for females too.
Studies found that even though Viagra induced a greater pelvic blood flow
in women, they did not feel substantially more aroused.

A Positive Study of Human Sexuality at Midlife
The AARP study conducted in 2004 surveyed a nationally representative group
of adults ages 45 and older to measure attitudes and other factors affecting
their sexuality and quality of life.
For more than half of the respondents, sexual activity is a critical part
of a good relationship and an important factor affecting their quality of
life. A vast majority of mid-life to older adults shows a positive attitude

Sexual Health: An Active Sex Life in Later Years
As we grow older, many of us want to continue an active, satisfying sex
life. But the aging process may cause some changes which affect one’s
ability to have and enjoy sex with another person.
There are several things you can do: Remember that sex does not have to
include intercourse. Make your partner a high priority. Try different positions
and new times, like having sex in the morning when you both may have more
energy. Don’t hurry - you or your partner may need to spend more time
touching to become fully aroused. Masturbation is a sexual activity that
many older people find satisfying.

Sexual dysfunction is most prevalent in men with illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke and depression. 'The secret to preserving sexuality is to stay healthy and to build healthy relationships - and both require a series of wise choices throughout life.' (Harvey B. Simon, M.D.)

Analyse
any human emotion, no matter how far it may be removed from the sphere of
sex, and you are sure to discover somewhere the primal impulse, to which
life owes its perpetuation. ... The primitive stages can always be re-established;
the primitive mind is, in the fullest meaning of the word, imperishable.
... Mans most disagreeable habits and idiosyncrasies, his deceit, his cowardice,
his lack of reverence, are engendered by his incomplete adjustment to a
complicated civilisation. It is the result of the conflict between our instincts
and our culture. (Sigmund Freud)
