Introduction / Summary (2018): Hello and welcome to our Sexuality pages. While this is not a pornographic site, it is provocative - founded upon what people search on the Internet (which is very interesting!). We then relate this to our biological and cultural evolution.
Sex is obviously important to people - and if you want to improve your sexual relationships then knowing the truth about our human evolution is the best foundation. By opening our minds to a greater diversity of behaviors, this knowledge will help you creatively cultivate healthy pleasurable moral attitudes and sexy smutty relationships (free from religious guilt & cultural myths).
Support an open honest discussion on the truth of our sexual evolution and behaviour. If you support sex positive, moral, informed sexual behaviour please share this knowledge. (These pages have a diverse collection of fascinating information relating to our human sexual evolution so people will appreciate it - see our 'nice letters' page!).
Sincerely, Karene.

Hugh Hefner Biography: The Playboy Empire, Mansion
Hugh Hefner was born in Chicago on April 9, 1926.
After studying art and sociology at university, Hef's decided to start a magazine of his own after losing his job with Esquire. Hef and a fellow copywriter from Esquire tried to raise enough capital to launch a magazine and failed. While working as the newsstand promotion director in 1952, he became convinced there was a market for a sophisticated men's magazine that would reflect the views of the post-War generation and he was the man to start it.
Hugh found a printer willing to print the first issue and a distributor to distribute it. He got friends and family to invest in the venture, raising just $8000, including $600 of his own money borrowed from a bank using his family's furniture as collateral.
The first issue of Playboy magazine, featuring the now famous calendar photo of Marilyn Monroe, was produced on a kitchen table in his South Side apartment and hit the newsstands in December 1953. The first issue sold more than 50,000 copies, enough to pay for the paper and printing costs and to finance another issue.
Thereafter, Hef never doubted that the magazine would be a success. He plowed profits back into the publication and hired a young, enthusiastic editorial, art, promotion and advertising staff to assist him. Playboy grew at a phenomenal rate. By the end of the decade, the magazine was selling more than a million copies a month.
By 1971, when Playboy Enterprises went public, the magazine was selling 7 million copies a month and there were 23 Playboy Clubs, resorts, hotels and casinos with more than 900,000 members worldwide. The corporation also included book publishing, merchandising, a modeling agency, a limousine service, a record label and a TV and motion picture company. It was truly an empire ruled by one man.
In 1971, he established a second residence in Los Angeles with the acquisition of a five and one half acre estate in Holmby Hills, which quickly became known as Playboy Mansion West, where he was able to more closely supervise Playboy Enterprises' increasing interests in television and film production.

The Playboy Bunny Costume
A Playboy Bunny was a waitress at the Playboy Clubs (open 1960 – 1988)
From the website: 'The form fitting Playboy Bunny outfit, with its fluffy cottontail, white collar, cuffs, and satin ears, was the first service uniform registered at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. According to Playboy Enterprises, Inc., the costume may be worn 'only for Playboy authorized activities.
The original costume resembled a strapless, one-piece, rayon-satin bathing suit. Accessorized with oversized ears and a tail, it came in 10 colors and numerous sizes, but without the collar and cuffs. Name tags and rosettes were added to the costume in 1961.
The Bunny tail also changed from the original design. The original Bunny tail was smaller than the one that is worn today. In July 1969, for better looks and durability, new tails of white synthetic fur replaced the nylon yarn.
Throughout the years, Playboy modified the costumes to reflect current fashion. In the late 1960s, Playboy introduced Pucci influenced, psychedelic-print costumes. In the early 1980s, the Bunny Cabaret costume was developed, inspired by Hugh Heffner, complete with Espree mesh stockings, garters and dyed pumps.
The Playboy Bunny costume is recognized around the world and has become part of Playboy's corporate identity.'

Analyse any human emotion, no matter how far it may be removed from the sphere of sex, and you are sure to discover somewhere the primal impulse, to which life owes its perpetuation. ... The primitive stages can always be re-established; the primitive mind is, in the fullest meaning of the word, imperishable. ... Mans most disagreeable habits and idiosyncrasies, his deceit, his cowardice, his lack of reverence, are engendered by his incomplete adjustment to a complicated civilisation. It is the result of the conflict between our instincts and our culture. (Sigmund Freud)
